Bert's Cafe is owned and operated by a local Tahoe family. We have lived here for 40+ years and have had Bert's for two decades! You'll see "Bert" cruising through pouring coffee every now and again, and his wife still comes in to help and say hello. Their daughter is taking over the reins to keep it in the family and preserve this classic local gem of a true diner! Many of our staff have been here for 10+ years, and we consider all of our team to be part of this family, too! We truly love what we do and our community we serve. You'll find the love in the homemade family recipes!

From downhill skiing, to cross country, to hiking, biking, boating and beaching... Tahoe is the best playground you can ask for! Please be respectful to this land we love so much. As those famous mountain sayings go,
"Pack it in, and pack it out" and
"Leave no trace."

Please be mindful: Tahoe is a happening vacation town! Since we make A LOT from scratch, there can be a wait to be seated because, yes, we are that good! Please be kind and patient to our crew that shows up to serve you that yummy goodness!
We love doing what we do and are here every day of the week. The only days you'll find us closed are Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
